A district government in Hanoi had to reconsider its recent appointments of six senior positions amid allegations of nepotism, local media reported.
My Duc District has been strongly criticized recently for these job offers, which were given to family members of some of its own officials.
Among them are two sons of Nguyen Van Hau, deputy chairman of the People’s Committee, according to local media.
The candidates previously worked at the management board of a local tourist site.
Following the criticism, the Party unit of Hanoi ordered the district to review the "sensitive" case, which then led to the withdrawal of five of the nominations.
Dao Duc Toan, human resources chief of the Party unit, said it is not unusual to see family members working for the same government agency.
He said inspectors have not found any violations in the recruitment process in this case and that the candidates all had good experience.
