A light monitoring frigate of the French Navy will pay a courtesy visit to the central city of Da Nang this week, the municipal authorities announced Tuesday.
As scheduled, the Vendémiaire (F734) will dock at Tien Sa Port from November 15 to 19.
After a welcome ceremony, representatives from the municipal government and military officials will be invited onboard to tour the ship.
The ship’s crew members will take part in exchange activities, including friendship volleyball tournaments, with Vietnamese military officers.
The two sides will also engage in joint training activities at sea as part of Vietnam-French defense cooperation plan in 2014.
It will be the third visit to Da Nang by a French Navy ship.

Put into operation in 1993, the 93.5-meter long Vendémiaire mainly patrols French seas and carries out humanitarian and evacuation missions when needed.
