French Navy vessel makes Da Nang port call

The Vendémiaire (F734), a light monitoring frigate of the French Navy, docked at Tien Sa Port in the central city of Da Nang on Wednesday for a week-long visit.
During the visit, the vessel’s crew members will take part in a joint exercise with officers of the Vietnam Navy, Daniel Lopez, captain of the Vendémiaire, said in a press conference after the arrival.
He did not specify details of the exercise but said anti-smuggling at sea and the control of fishing areas will among the main contents of the exercise.
The Vendémiaire crew will make courtesy calls on city authorities and the Vietnam Navy’s 3rd Regional Command, which is headquartered in Da Nang.
They will also take part in sports activities with Vietnamese officers and soldiers and visit famous tourist destinations in Da Nang and nearby Quang Nam Province.
