Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung called on government ministries and agencies to cooperate with Da Nang's municipal administrators to further develop the central hub's infrastructure.
During the meeting PM Dung praised the city officials for their recent advancements, particularly in the fields of infrastructure and urban planning.
He accepted proposals by the Ministry of Transport to upgrade the Da Nang International Airport in order to raise its capacity from four million to six million passengers annually and to expand the Tien Sa Port.
He also accepted a proposal from the municipal authorities to add more gaming tables to a licensed casino at Silver Shores International Resort in Da Nang to help increase the city’s annual revenue.
Last week, the prime minister agreed on the city’s adjusted master plan for 2030-2050, which will help turn Da Nang as a center of sports, education, science and technology for the central region.
This year, the city has attracted 285 foreign-invested projects with funding of US$3.32 billion.
