Leaders from 35 cities in Vietnam attended a leadership and management training program initiated by the World Bank in Hanoi on Monday, according to a press release from the global lender.
The Vietnam Mayors Executive Education Program included a two-day seminar with eminent professors from US universities, including Harvard University, and associations specialized in city management.
The participants will travel to South Korea’s Incheon City to learn about management and competitiveness strategies under the program held jointly with the Academy of Management for Cities and Construction, the World Bank said in a statement.
Building leadership capacity in city and town administrations will be critical to sustainable development during the country’s ongoing urbanization, according to the institution.
