The new British ambassador to Vietnam said at a press briefing Thursday in Hanoi that his country was committed to providing further support to Vietnam's development process.
Britain's aid will focus on millennium development goals, trade and growth, national administration reform and climate change, Antony Stokes said.
Other areas include trade and investment as well as education, he added.
Also at the press briefing, Stokes said that Britain is willing to support Vietnam in opening a direct air-route between the two countries, which is expected to happen next year.
National carrier Vietnam Airlines is currently carrying out necessary studies to open straight air-routes between Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and London.
