Shooters entered the first day of competition at the 24th ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet (AARM-24) in Hanoi, on Thursday.
The 543 contestants from 10 Southeast Asian countries competed in five categories – rifle, machine gun, carbine, pistol (males and females) – at the Mieu Mon shooting range in My Duc District.
The event will run until November 28.
The Vietnam People’s Army organized the event and entered a team of 37 shooters.
The AARM started in 1990 under the initiative of the ASEAN Chiefs of Army, to strengthen solidarity, mutual understanding and friendship among ASEAN armies. It is held annually on a rotational basis.
