He was answering questions about issues like China-Vietnam relations and China-ASEAN (the Association of Southeast Asian Nations) ties during a meeting with Chinese radio and television reporters Wednesday.
Asked about Vietnam-China ties, Triet said he was very glad that over the past few years, the two parties and states had exchanged numerous visits, reinforcing their friendly relations.
Vietnam welcomed initiatives on strengthening cooperation between Vietnam and China and China and ASEAN, and said his country would endeavor to realize these initiatives.
He appreciated a Chinese initiative on holding the China-ASEAN trade fair in China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region every autumn.
Vietnam’s admission to the World Trade Organization (WTO) this year had created a good foundation for strengthening regional cooperation and Vietnam had learned a lot from China's WTO-related experiences.
The Chinese media delegation arrived in Vietnam, on the first leg of its tour of the 10 ASEAN member-nations.
