Asian bank chief to visit Vietnam
Asian Development Bank President Haruhiko Kuroda
Asian Development Bank President Haruhiko Kuroda will visit Vietnam next week for the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Finance Ministers’ Meeting in Hanoi, the Vietnamese central bank said.

He was also expected to meet with senior government leaders and have working sessions with the State Bank governor and finance and planning and investment ministers.

He would also have working sessions with some partners and visit some ADB-funded projects, the central bank said.

This is Koruda’s first visit to Vietnam after he took up office in Feb. 2005 and the first by an ADB president since 2001.

The 13th APEC finance ministers’ meeting will be held on Sept 5-8 and discuss “promoting public finance efficiency and sustainability: towards stable and efficient revenue sources” and “financial sector reform to attract capital flows”.
