Thanh Nien sponsors ethnic minorities football tournament
Thanh Nien newspaper will support an annual football tournament for ethnic minority youths in Vietnam’s central highlands.

This year’s event, to be held on November 4-7 in Daklak province, will see four provincial teams participating – Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Lam Dong, and host Daklak. Dak Nong, originally scheduled to participate, announced its withdrawal on Monday.

The Gia Lai squad, comprised mainly of Bana and J’rai minorities, has talented players like Ro Cham Tien and Ro Lan Dem who play for V-League club Hoang Anh Gia Lai.

Bahnar, Ro Ngao, De, Trieng, and Ha Lang ethnic groups will play for Kon Tum, the E De for Daklak, and Cill and K'ho for Lam Dong.

The teams will play a single round robin.

Thanh Nien will give away the prizes to the winners.
