Private budget carrier VietJetAir said it plans to offer 2,000 free tickets to Ho Chi Minh City from February 1-9, just prior to the Lunar New Year festival.
The “Zero Fare” promotion is valid for flights from Hanoi, Hai Phong, Vinh, Hue, Da Nang, Nha Trang and Phu Quoc to the southern city for the Tet festival, the biggest in the country that peaks on February 10.
To take advantage of the offer, interested customers must book tickets on the VietJetAir website between 9 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. on January 24.
The airline said it would be doubling its current fleet of three aircraft to meet increasing demand during the holiday season.
VietJetAir entered the market in December 2011 and provides services to and from Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Lat, Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Hue, Nha Trang, Vinh and Hai Phong. The airline will launch its first international route from HCMC to Bangkok on February 10, 2013 – the first day of the new lunar year.
It plans to offer routes to other destinations in southeast and northeast Asian by the end of this year, and expects to expand its fleet to 15 by 2015.
