Three police officers in northern Vietnam have been hospitalized after being attacked by a group of teenage boys Sunday night.

The Thanh Hoa Province officers were patrolling when they were suddenly attacked with canes and stones, the VOVNews reported.

Police have identified and arrested the attackers, three of which are 19 years-old; two are 18; one is 17.

Hoang Huy Toan, 52, was the most seriously injured officer, suffering skin lacerations and broken facial bones.

Further investigations have been launched to look for more people who may have been involved.
