Vietnam’s first center applying participle accelerators, or cyclotrons, in medicine opened in Hanoi on Monday.
Set up at the Ministry of National Defense’s Army Central Hospital No.108, the Cyclotron 30 MeV Center aims to boost local use of nuclear medicine, especially in diagnosis and treatment of cancer and cardiovascular diseases.
The center will also be used for local research in nuclear physics and the application of related techniques in various fields like environmental pollution and archeology.
