A medical station in the central province of Ninh Thuan has mistakenly given a three-month-old baby a vaccine shot design for those from nine months old.
The baby was brought to the station in Phan Rang – Thap Cham town on July 3 for the 3-in-1 vaccine DPT, named as the abbreviation of three diseases it protects children from – diphtheria, pertussis (whooping cough) and tetanus.
But a staff member administered a measles-rubella shot, according to local media.
The mother found out after the baby had fever and seemed not very responsive.
She brought the baby to Ninh Thuan General Hospital where the baby received supervision for three days.
