Doctors at the Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday successfully removed three large tumors from the back of a 26-year-old man, online newspaper Dan Tri reported.
Le Thanh Vu underwent a three-hour surgery to get rid of the abnormal tumors after doctors spent nearly half a month preparing for the operation.
The biggest of the three tumors weighs around 7 kilograms, the report said.
It cited doctors as saying Vu is recovering well after the surgery.
The doctors are planning another surgery to remove a 10-kilogram tumor on Vu's left arm.
The native of Rach Gia City in Kien Giang Province has four tumors, which started growing on his body since he turned four.
They are not painful but they have caused him a lot of difficulties in daily life. Vu cannot move his left arm because the tumor is too heavy.
His left thorax is also deformed, making his body tilt to one side.
