Doctors at Hanoi-based international hospital Vinmec will save the last week of November to offer free treatment and surgeries to poor children with congenital ailments.

Nguyen Thanh Liem, director of Vinmec, said the patients will receive full hospital coverage including meals, plus travel expenses for one accompanying caretaker.

The treatment round will deal with a wide range of conditions including gastro-intestinal and genital anomalies like the absence of an anus or urinary tract complications; bile duct cysts, congenital bile duct strictures, inguinal hernias; heart defects; cleft lips or palates; and club feet.

US-based charity Kind Heart Foundation is participating in the program.

Appointments can to be made with Dr. Vu Duy Chinh by calling 091 659 8695.
