A US Navy hospital ship will be docked in the central city of Da Nang from August 17-28 as part of the ongoing US Navy-led Pacific Partnership 2015 mission.
The USNS Mercy (T-AH-19) will be accompanied by the USNS Millinocket for the 12-day humanitarian mission in the city.
A free health examination and treatment for city dwellers will be the highlight of the visit. The USNS Mercy medical staff will perform procedures for burnt victims, patients with cardiovascular problems and total joint replacement.
During the visit, officers aboard the US ships will take part in medical workshops and rescue exercises with the Vietnamese Navy.
Pacific Partnership 2015 is said to be the largest annual multilateral humanitarian-assistance and disaster-relief preparedness mission in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
