Scorching heat of up to 40 degrees celsius (104 degrees fahrenheit) in Nghe An Province may have caused the deaths of two farmers.
Nguyen Van Lieu, 51, was plowing his field in Nghi Thach Commune on Monday morning when he told his family that he felt dizzy.
He was moved into the shade and rested for a while before returning to work. However, he collapsed again and was rushed to the local medical center, where he died soon after.
On Sunday, Nguyen Thi An, the other farmer, also fell unconscious while working on her field in the same commune, and died on the way to the hospital at around 9 a.m.
The 60-year-old did not have a chronic disease, and a check-up she received ten days before her death found she was healthy, her husband was quoted by Tuoi Tre newspaper as saying.
Vo Thi Kieu Oanh, a nurse at the local medical center, told Tuoi Tre that she found heat stroke symptoms in both victims. 
The day temperature in Nghe An have been around 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit) for the past days, and reached the record 42 degrees in some areas.
