A baby girl has been placed under intensive care at a hospital in Thanh Hoa Province, Vietnam, after her mother accidentally delivered her into a toilet last week.
Doctor Duong Van Hung, director of the Thanh Hoa Pediatrics Hospital of the northern province, said baby Bui Thi Hoa was born two months early.
When she was admitted to the hospital last Friday, the baby was in critical condition. Her mouth was bleeding and her body bruised, Dr. Hung said.
Her condition is more stable now, he said.
The girl's 22-year-old mother, Bui Thi Han, gave birth unexpectedly when she went to her company lavatory.
The panicked mother screamed for help while trying to lift the baby out.
Other workers rushed her and her newborn to the Bim Son Town Hospital, which then transfered both to Thanh Hoa Pediatrics Hospital.
Han has recovered and has been discharged, doctors said.
Her husband said the newborn is their third child. The other two were born normally, he said.
