A pregnant woman was severely injured in a motorcycle crash last month, forcing doctors in Nghe An Province to deliver her baby by Caesarean section prematurely, at 32 weeks.
After staying at the provincial general hospital for 10 days, the boy returned home in good health with his father on Thursday.
Doctors said the mother, Nguyen Thi Tuyet, 33, is still in a coma and her condition is critical.
Her husband was driving her on a motorbike on June 21 when he crashed into a guardrail along the road.
Tuyet fell to the ground unconscious. She was rushed to the hospital with a severe head injury.
The next evening, doctors here decided to deliver her baby, after putting her on a ventilator.
They tried their best to save the boy, who weighed only 2 kilograms, with special treatment.
He began to be able to breathe on his own on Monday.
Doctors are carefully monitoring his mother.
