Baby dies of swine flu in Vietnam

A three-mont- old orphan in Ho Chi Minh City died of the H1N1 "swine flu" virus strain on November 6 at the Children's Hospital No.2, according Tuoi Tre newspaper.

The baby, who was born prematurely at the weight of just 0.9 kilogram (nearly 2 pounds), also suffered from pneumonia and acute respiratory syndrome. He was hospitalized on October 31 but died on the night of November 6.

Another 12-year-old child infected with the H1N1 flu virus also was hospitalized on October 31 at the same hospital and is now under treatment.

Up to 13 people have died of swine flu this year in Vietnam, according to local media reports.
