A passenger gave birth to a healthy baby boy during a Jetstar Pacific flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang on Friday, the airlines said in a release.
Earlier, the passenger identified only as N and her husband took the flight BL590 that departed HCMC at 2:55 p.m.
Around 45 minutes into the flight when the aircraft was about to lower altitude for landing, she went into labor.
The baby boy was delivered by a foreign doctor who happened to be on the flight, with the help of flight attendants.
After the plane landed in Da Nang Airport 4:15 p.m., an ambulance took the parents and child to Da Nang Hospital for Women and Children.
Doctors said N was in the 32nd week of pregnancy and the baby weighs 2.7 kg.
This was the second case a woman gave birth on a Jetstar Pacific flight.
On January 16, 2011, Nguyen Thi Lap gave birth to a healthy boy on a flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Vinh.
