25 hospitalized after eating bread from central Vietnam bakery

At least 25 people were hospitalized after eating what may have been poisoned bread in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong as of Sunday.

According to the Duc Trong District Health Center, it received patients who had been suffering from severe abdominal pains, vomiting, high fever and diarrhea since Saturday evening.

The number of patients admitted to the center with the same symptoms had reached 25 as of 7 p.m. on Sunday.

The patients all told doctors that they had eaten bread from a bakery in Lien Nghia Town, Duc Trong District.

A similar case occurred in the town about one month ago, with more than 30 people hospitalized for food poisoning after eating bread bought from another local bakery.
