Ho Chi Minh City doctors has saved the life of a 15-year-old girl who was hospitalized with more than 150 hornet stings, news website Dan Tri reported.
The girl from the Mekong Delta province of Long An was admitted to the HCMC Children’s Hospital 1 several days ago. She was in critical condition with stings all over her body.
After 36 hours of treatment, she recovered. She was discharged from hospital on Tuesday.
According to her family, the girl and her uncle were cutting trees in the garden when they unintentionally cut a tree with a hornet's net above.
A swarm of the stinging insects flew out and attacked them.
She could not run away. As she screamed for help, his uncle tried to chase the insects away but he was also attacked.
After the hornets flew away, neighbors brought them to hospital.
The uncle’s condition was better than the girl's.
Hornet stings are dangerous and can be fatal.
