Miss Vietnam 2006 attends Miss World
Miss Vietnam 2006 Mai Phuong Thuy is set to display the depth of Vietnamese beauty to the world during the 56th Miss World contest, which runs throughout the month of September in Poland.

After her success at Miss Vietnam 2006 on Aug 26, the 18-year-old Hanoi beauty began her trip to Poland host city of Gdansk Monday evening.

Thuy has received a full scholarship from RMIT University, and wants to become a successful businesswoman.

She enjoys jogging, swimming, reading, listening to music, especially hip-hop and dance.

Her favorite foods, of course, are Vietnam’s traditional delicacies of ‘Pho’ (noodle soup) and spring rolls.

At 1.79m, Thuy is the tallest-ever Miss Vietnam to join in Miss World.

In the final contest on Sept 30, she will wear the traditional Vietnamese ao dai, a tunic-like dress made famous in Vietnam.
