Int’l agencies offer scholarships in Vietnam
Three foreign organizations have recently announced 2010-2011 scholarships for Vietnamese students.

The US-based Vietnam Education Foundation (VEF), which opened operations in Vietnam in 2003, has offered an average 40 scholarships to Vietnamese students every year, according to its website.

The British Chevening Scholarship Program, funded by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), will grant 3-12-month scholarships for study or research in the UK, usually at the Master’s level.

The Belgian Bilateral Scholarship Program, which began in 1978, will offer 40 scholarships to Vietnamese nationals who want to obtain Master’s or Ph.D. degrees from universities in Belgium.

For VEF, applications will be available only online from February 10 to April 10, 2010, Vietnam time. The deadline for applications for the Chevening scholarships will be November 23, 2009 while applications for the Belgian scholarships will be no later than December 28, 2009.
