The kids, whose parents are local fishermen, had no place to play until the volunteers built the structure, Lao Dong reports.
The nearly 100 square meter playground was built with a VND10 million donation from the volunteers. Rope and used tires were used to build climbing nets, teeter-totters and slides. The children have joined the decoration of the playground by adding their own paints and designs.
The playground was built to lure local children away from the Red River’s dyke where many children typically drown during the rainy season.
