All eight members of the Vietnamese team have bagged prizes at the 17th Asian Physics Olympiad held in Hong Kong from May 1 to 9.
The silver medals were claimed by 11th grader Nguyen The Quynh from Vo Nguyen Giap Gifted High School in Quang Binh, 12th grader Dinh Thi Huong Thao from Le Hong Phong Gifted High School in Nam Dinh and 12th grader Nguyen Quang Nam from the gifted high school of the Hanoi National University of Education.
Three 12th grader won bronze medals include Pham Quang Minh from Hanoi-Amsterdam Gifted High School, and Phan Ngoc Nam and Nguyen Van Quan from Le Hong Phong Gifted High School in Nam Dinh.
Two 12th grade students Ha Anh Duc from the Gifted High School under the University of Natural Sciences of the Hanoi National University and Do Thuy Tran from Le Hong Phong Gifted High School in Nam Dinh were awarded certificates of merit.
Last year, Vietnam team won three gold and two silvers at the event.
The annual Asian Physics Olympiad, the premier physics competition for pre-university students from Asian countries, is modeled after the International Physics Olympiad.
