A Vietnamese student has won a gold medal at the 42nd International Physics Olympiad that took place in Thailand between July 10 and 18.
Nguyen Huy Hoang, a 12th grader from the Phan Boi Chau Gifted Senior High School in the central province of Nghe An, brought home the gold in the annual physics competition for high school students from all over the world.
The Vietnamese team also bagged two silvers and two bronzes.
In related news, four Vietnamese students bagged two silvers and two bronzes at the 43rd International Chemistry Olympiad held in Turkey between July 9 and 18.
Three Vietnamese students also won three bronze medals at the 22nd International Biology Olympiad in Taiwan between July 10 and 18.
