Vietnam wins third prize at int'l robot contest

A university team from Vietnam won the third prize at an international robot contest in Thailand Sunday.

Lac Hong University's LH-B7 team, hailing from the southern province of Dong Nai, also received the technology award granted by Toyota at the contest, held by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union.

With the participation of 19 teams from 18 countries, the Robocon this year wrapped up with a Thai team claiming victory.

Another team from the host country won second prize, while Indonesia took third prize together with Vietnam.

Since the contest was initiated in Japan in 2002, Vietnamese entrants have made it to six out of seven finals and won first prize three times in 2002, 2004 and 2006.
