FPT University said the Laos government has agreed to provide it around 30 hectares to build a campus in Laos, news website Vietnamplus reported Thursday.
Le Truong Tung, principal of FPT University, which is owned by Hanoi-based telecom giant FPT, said having a campus in Laos is an important part of its plan to "export" education to other countries.
"If the project is carried out successfully, it can be considered a new path for Vietnamese education to reach out to the international environment," he said.
He will visit Laos early next year to promote the project
In October the first made-in-Vietnam satellite, F1, built by a team from FPT University, was put in the space by US space agency NASA.
