A Microsoft representative said on November 21 that the company has yet make plans to launch its new Surface tablets in Vietnam but that customers can still order the new products online.

Vu Minh Tri, director of Microsoft Corp in Vietnam, said so far the Microsoft Surface has been only been sold in the US, Germany, France, the UK and Canada.

He said Vietnamese consumers who want to buy a Surface tablet now can order the product online at Windows Store of Microsoft, news website VnEconomy reported November 22.

Surface is the first tablet completely designed by Microsoft. The touch-screen computer comes with two versions: Surface RT, which uses Windows RT; and Surface Pro, which runs on Windows 8 Pro, the company's latest operating system.

In Vietnam, however, Surface RTs are going for around VND17-18 million (US$816) in a market generated through hand-carried imports, according to the news website.
