An unidentified person handed over two endangered loris last Wednesday to a conservation organization in Hanoi which in turn sent them to a wildlife rescue center.

Tran Viet Hung, deputy director of Education for Nature-Vietnam, told news website VnExpress that the young person had contacted his organization and asked to hand over the animals.

His organization then contacted Hanoi Forest Management Department, which took the loris to the Soc Son Wildlife Rescue Center on the city's outskirts.

The animals, which are both in good health, are expected to be kept there until they are ready to be returned to the wild.

Loris is a protected species in Vietnam and cannot be used for commercial purposes.

Education for Nature-Vietnam was established in 2000 as the country's first NGO focusing on the conservation of nature and the environment.
