Hanoi tower illuminated to celebrate Vietnam-Holland cooperation
Hanoi's iconic Hang Dau water tower has been turned into a beacon of light this week to celebrate the national festive days of Vietnam and the Netherlands, according to a press release by the Dutch embassy.
While April 27th is King's Day - the national day of the Holland, Vietnam celebrates its Reunification Day on April 30th.
Lighting up the Hang Dau water tower "serves as a lively proof of friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and the Netherlands," the release says.
Since 2010, the two countries have closely cooperated on water management and climate change adaptation. The Netherlands have shared expertise on water treatment and flood protection in the Red River and Mekong River delta, the release said.
