Hanoi authorities have announced that, on August 25, they will shut down all Internet shops that fall within a 200 meter radius of schools.
The announcement comes as part of a nation-wide crack down on online gaming.
Nearly 100 shops will be affected by the decision, Pham Quoc Ban, director of Hanoi Department of Information and Communications, said at a meeting Friday.
The Hanoi's People's Committee issued an order, the same day, requiring Internet service providers and online game suppliers to cut services to public shops from 11 p.m. till 6 a.m.
Last month Ho Chi Minh City also submitted to Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung asking him to tighten the screws on the gaming industry.
