Germany honors Vietnamese professor

The Germany government's Alexander von Humboldt foundation honored Vietnamese professor Nguyen The Hoang with it's Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel-Forschungspreis award March 1, according to the German Embassy in Hanoi.

Hoang, who now works at the Orthopedic Institute at 108 Hospital, also known as Central Army Hospital 108, in Hanoi, has become the first Vietnamese to receive the award.

The award, which includes a cash sum of 45,000 euros (US$58,586) was given to him for his significant contributions in the field of orthopedics, which have been recognized by the international scientific community

The professor has also been invited to Germany to cooperate with  scientists there on various studies.

The Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel-Forschungspreis award is one of the most prestigious prizes that the Germany government presents for scientist around the world.
