Teachers in a remote mountainous area in Yen Bai Province in northern Vietnam last week crossed a flooded path with the help of an excavator on their way to school.
Duong Xuan Truong, principal of the Nam Muoi Ethnic Day-boarding Junior High School, said the path to school was inundated in heavy rains early last week.
A construction unit that was building a temporary bridge helped the teachers, most of them women, get across the flooded section.
Students did not take that path to the school, he said.
It is easier to go to the school now after the bridge was finished last week, he said.
