Two teachers at a public nursery school in the northern province of Lang Son have been suspended after a video went viral showing a 22-month-old boy being locked out of their class and eating trash.
The teachers of Xuan Mai Nursery School, whose names have been withheld, were also ordered to write a report on the case.
The local authorities tracked down the location after the 5-minute video emerged on Facebook on Saturday (October 3).
In the video, the boy kept crying and screaming outside the class and ate something out of a trash can around noon before his teacher opened the door and threatened to drop him into a water pool if he did not stop crying.
The teachers claimed that they resorted to locking the child out of the class because he refused to take a nap on October 1, according to the authorities.
Nguyen Thi Nga, the boy’s mother, said her son started going to school two weeks ago.
She also said the two teachers visited her home and apologized after the video was posted on Facebook.
