Doctors in the central province of Nghe An on Friday said 18 preschoolers and their two teachers were in a stable condition after being attacked by a large swarm of bees yesterday.
Pham Thi Tuyet, a teacher of local preschool Xuan Trung, was the most critical case with dozens of stings on her face and body, doctors of Thanh Chuong General Hospital said.
Tuyet, 46, and her 12 students were admitted to the hospital on Thursday morning.
Another teacher and six other students were sent to Huong Son General Hospital in the neighboring province of Ha Tinh.
All the toddlers, aged 3 and 4, had multiple stings and came in with high fever and breathing difficulties, doctors said.
The children were reportedly playing with their teachers inside their classroom at around 8 a.m. on Thursday when a swarm of bees suddenly attacked them.
The teachers brought the children to a corner, covered them under a canvas and called for help.
The bees were believed to have come from in a nearby forest.
