Viettel opens SE Asia's biggest data center

The Vietnamese-Taiwanese joint venture Viettel IDC Company on Tueday officially launched Southeast Asia's biggest data center in southern Vietnam's Song Than Industrial Zone.

Viettel IDC, a joint venture between the Viettel Corporation and Taiwan's Chunghwa Telecom, invested US$18 million in establishing the data center on a 3,500 square meter plot 25 km outside Ho Chi Minh City.

According to a company press release, the center now has more than 500 customers, most of whom are government offices, ministries, banks, and companies operating in securities, media and telecom entities.
