Vietnam's largest listed telecom and technology company FPT has reported sales of more than US$1 billion in the first 10 months, up 14 percent year-on-year.

Most of the revenue was from sales of IT applications, including software solutions, and the company is working on more projects now.

Its net profits were worth 1.7 trillion, a 6 percent rise from the same period last year.

FPT Software, a subsidiary and Vietnam's largest software outsourcing company, recently opened another office in Japan which is expected to add 10-15 percent to FPT's revenues by 2017.

Revenues from the Japanese market grew by 27.5 percent on average between 2010 and 2012, and are expected to jump by 40 percent this year, a source said.
