Vietnam's first television program to promote domestic products was launched Saturday on a new channel run by Ho Chi Minh Television.
HTVCo.op, which is short for Ho Chi Minh Television and Saigon Co.op Supermarket, Vietnam's leading retailer, will be broadcasting 18 hours a day from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m., the Saigon Tiep Thi reported.
Also known as "Only Vietnamese products", the channel will provide information on shopping programs, special offers, detailed descriptions and consultations on quality Vietnamese products.
There will be long reports and entertainment sections as well.
Nguyen Thi Hong, vice chairwoman of HCMC People's Committee, said she's confident that HTV and the supermarket chain are strong enough to make the channel an effective way to promote products made in Vietnam.
