Vietjet on October 1 was honored with the title of “Best Asian Low Cost Carrier” at the TTG Travel Awards 2105, which compiles votes from travelers, travel agencies and tour operators in Asia.
The award highlights Vietjet’s achievements in providing the best services, the best network and schedules and for being the most agent-friendly airline in terms of reservations and confirmations as well as having the most professional sales and marketing team in respect of coming up with innovative ideas, exciting incentive programs and groundbreaking services.
By winning this accolade, the airline has become the first airline from Vietnam to win this award. It is also one of 16 new winners, emerging across various categories, to take home their first ever signature Hermes trophy from the TTG Travel Awards, which have been dominated by long-term winners in previous years.
The annual TTG Travel Awards has been organized by TTG Asia since 1989. The award winners are decided through the votes of readers of TTG Travel Trade Publishing’s print and online titles TTG Asia such as TTG China, TTG India, TTGmice, TTGassociations, TTG-BTmice China, and TTG Asia Luxury from May to July every year. These publications’ readers are mainly travel agents, tour operators, hoteliers and travelers. In 2015, the awards honored more than 80 winners in four categories, “Travel Supplier Awards”, “Travel Agency Awards”, “Outstanding Achievement Awards” and Honorary “Travel Hall of Fame”, covering services, products, organizations and individuals across the global travel industry.
Aviation is categorized under “Travel Supplier Awards” with nine awards, consisting of best airlines for the regions of North America, Europe, Middle East, Southeast Asia, North Asia, China, Asia Pacific, Asia and the general region. Besides Vietjet scooping the gong for “Best Asian Low Cost Carrier” award, Vietnam also boasted two other winners with Buffalo Tours named Vietnam’s Best Travel Agency and InterContinental Hanoi Westlake hotel named Best Hotel in Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City.
Representing Vietjet to receive the renowned award at Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre (Thailand), Ms Nguyen Thi Thuy Binh, Vice President, said: “This award is not only tremendous recognition for Vietjet’s operations and services over the past years but it also puts Vietnam’s aviation industry on the regional and global transportation and travel map.
Furthermore, this is also a great motivation for us and fills us with confidence as we continue to expand the airline’s flight network and offer our guests friendly and convenient services. This means we will also be in a position to contribute positively to the development of the tourism industry and trade both regionally and globally in the coming years.”
Vietjet also recently won the “Gold Award 2015” from the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) for its innovative and meaningful marketing campaigns, which have greatly inspired and contributed to tourism development in the Asia-Pacific region.
The airline has also been honored and presented with many more national and international awards, including “Company of the Year” in the category of “Aerospace & Defense and Transportation” at the Asia Pacific Stevie Awards 2015; “Top 5 Best New Routes Launch around the World” at “2012 Budgie$ & Travel Awards” (the UK); “The Airline with Most Culturally Creative and Entertaining In-flight Programs” by the Asian Record Organization; and “Golden Star Award for Quality” by Business Initiative Directions Awards (Switzerland).
Furthermore, the airline earned a Merit of Distinction from Vietnam’s Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for the last two consecutive years.
