Vietjet has signed a unique collaborative deal with Universal Pictures (America) and Illumination Entertainment (France) that will see minions – the famous cartoon characters first seen in the animation Despicable Me – emblazoned on one of the airline’s brand-new Airbus aircraft.
This special tie-in with Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment will also feature a host of activities for passengers and plenty of promotions for fans in the same week that Minions, the movie, is being launched in cinemas across Vietnam.
Plus, some lucky travelers may even meet some minions on board a Vietjet flight! The airline has revealed that some of these famous loveable characters will appear to greet passengers, present gifts and pose for photos on a special flight. Fans going to watch Minions in cinemas nationwide should also visit the carrier’s microsite every week for a chance to win return tickets from July 10 to July 30, 2015.
This is not the first time that Vietjet has signed an exclusive cooperation with famous film studios to “bring” adorable characters from well-loved animations to Vietnam.
Previously, the airline cooperated with Walt Disney to feature characters from the animation Planes on the fuselage of one aircraft. Another aircraft features Mickey and Minnie and the airline also sponsored the cast from Mickey’s Magic Show coming to Vietnam.
Besides aircraft featuring much-loved cartoon characters, aircraft in Vietjet’s fleet also feature various logos and slogans showcasing Visa, the national tourism symbol of Vietnam, Airbus’s 9,000th aircraft, Vietjet’s Skyboss ticket class, and many other famous corporations and brands.
The minions have proven to be a huge hit for millions of fans all around the world. As Vietjet is famous for its fun, friendly and high quality services, the new ‘Minion’ aircraft is expected to bring plenty of smiles to the faces of passengers coming onboard Vietjet flights this summer.
