Vietjet’s President and CEO signed an agreement for the PurePower Geared Turbofan™ (GTF) engine with representative from Pratt & Whitney of United Technologies Corp. (US). Vietjet’s President and CEO signed an agreement for the PurePower Geared Turbofan™ (GTF) engine with representative from Pratt & Whitney of United Technologies Corp. (US).
On February 17 at the Singapore Airshow 2016, Vietjet and Pratt & Whitney of United Technologies Corp. (US) sign an agreement for the PurePower Geared Turbofan™ (GTF) engine to power their order of 63 Airbus A320neo and A321neo family of aircraft.
The agreement is worth US$3.04 billion.
The signing was attended by key officials from Vietjet and SR Technics, as well as Mr. Nguyen Tien Minh, Vietnam’s Ambassador to Singapore and Mr. Nguyen Nhat, Vietnam’s Deputy Minister of Transport.
“We are very pleased to choose the PurePower Geared Turbofan™ (GTF) engine for our Airbus A320neo and A321neo family fleets. With its advanced design of less fuel costs and CO2 emissions, the new engines are expected to boost the carrier’s efficiency and protect environment as well as enable Vietjet to offer passengers more affordable air fares,” said Madam Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, Vietjet’s President and CEO.
