US non-lifer launches online services

US-based non-life insurer Liberty has launched online services targeting customers who are increasingly accessing the Internet and accessing hi-tech devices in Vietnam.

Customers can now buy insurance products and consult with the company through its website

"Liberty has always looked for and put into operation the latest technical advancements in order to improve the quality of our products and services to ensure strong growth and meet the increasing demands of customers," said general director of Liberty Insurance Limited Carlos Vanegas.

Vanegas said the number of Internet users and users of cell phones that could access the Internet was increasing, so Liberty had become the first US firm to introduce the services, saving time and cost for customers as well as the insurer.

The firm specializes in insurance solutions for individuals and small and medium enterprises. Its most popular products are car, health, home, travel, motorcycle, personal accident, liability and engineering insurance.

Licensed in 2008, Liberty was at the end of 2009 among the top ten of 28 non-life insurers in Vietnam, especially in automobile insurance, with premiums growing 360 percent against 2008, the company said.
