Vietnamese economic experts will discuss the future of its imperiled currency at a symposium this Friday (January 14).
The European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham) will host a special dialogue with Dr. Duong Thu Huong, general secretary of The Vietnam Banks Association, regarding the future of the Vietnam dong.
During this luncheon event, Dr. Huong will share her views on the trajectory of the nation's interest rates and how these can be reduced.
She will also discuss whether or not the dong will be devalued for the 3rd time this year and the state of foreign currency reserves in Vietnam.
Dr. Huong earned a Diploma at the University of Finance in 1969 and a Ph.D in the Republic of Hungary in 1984.
The talk will be held from 11:45 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at the New World Hotel Saigon, 76 Le Lai Street, District 1, HCMC. The fee for members is VND600,000. Nonmembers will be asked to pay VND900,000.
