Thailand's Matichon Group, a media partner of Thanh Nien Newspaper's, on Friday received a Truehits 2015 award for its news website Khaosod.co.th, which been named the country's most-read website in 2015.
The website was recognized by Thai website analytics Truehits as having the record infraday hit of 1 million
Nguyen Quang Thong, editor-in-chief of Thanh Nien Newspaper, attended the ceremony in Bangkok and congratulated Matichon Group on both the achievement and its 38th anniversary.
Thanh Nien and Matichon signed a bilateral cooperation agreement in November 2015, which covers three main issues: sharing the copyright on economic news, sharing the benefits from added-value advertisement, and co-organizing communication events in the region.
The two partners plan to organize a mid-year forum on investment, trade and technology cooperation between Vietnam and Thailand with the participation of government officials and businesses from both country.
Matichon Group, founded in 1978, owns three of the most prestigious and influential daily newspapers in Thailand – Matichon, Khaosod and Prachachat Business.
The group also produces a weekly magazine on Thai culture and history, a weekly magazine of vocational training for farmers, Matichon Online and television content.
