Thailand's top industrial conglomerate Siam Cement Group plans to triple its building material sales in Vietnam to about 1 billion baht (US$33 million) by 2015, the Bangkok Post reported Monday.
SCG aims to achieve total sales in Vietnam of around $13 million this year, up approximately 35 percent from 2010, Sattawat Thitaram, country director of SCG Building Materials, was quoted as saying in the report.
The Thai company plans to increase the number of its authorized dealers in Vietnam from 30 to 50 over the next five years. Thitaram said the company would open a showroom in Ho Chi Minh City next year following the launch of one last week in Hanoi.
The company entered Vietnam five years ago with the opening of a roof tile factory in the southern province of binh Duong.
