Construction began last weekend at a luxurious US$256-million golf and resort project in Ho Chi Minh City's District 2.
The 120-hectare Saigon Golf, Country Club and Residences was developed by the Saigon Development and Investment Corporation (SDI).
It will include an 18-hole championship golf course, 193 villa residences, 132 condominiums, a country club, and a hotel and apartment complex.
An international consulting team, including legendary golfer Greg Norma, designed and engineered the project, which will be the first development in Vietnam to offer "a combination of golf, resort lifestyle and family entertainment in one location," according to the statement.
The golf course and residences are scheduled for completion by the end of 2012 and 2013 respectively.
SDI has also announced the completion of the resettlement infrastructure for the affected families. The infrastructure was completed prior to the construction of the golf project.
